Phebe and Richard met in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. We both moved here for jobs, met, and it took two hurricanes for us to become a couple. Richard's apartment blew away, Phebe's car went upside down in the road, and, well, the rest is history.
We both love to travel - and we both manage to have adventures both deliberate and accidental. Phebe escaped from quarantine in a Russian hospital. Richard was thrown out of the Soviet Union for distributing religious items to Soviet Jews. Phebe had her camera arrested in Liberia, West Africa. Richard was arrested at a variety of demonstrations. We both fell into a raft in Costa Rica. Together with our B&B owner, we opened a national park gate to get to the top of an active volcano. Monkeys climb out of trees to talk to us. Ocelots purr at us. And, of course, butterflies and hurricanes come out of nowhere and follow us.

ah phebes, you have the luck of the irish who lived next door to you. all our trips never went as planned, many airport fiascos that always somehow turned out OK. We always called it the scenic journey. Made things much more interesting to talk about later. Happy treks to you and Richard. Hope to catch you in Bellingham!
